The Cricket Ontario Executive is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic volunteer (with Honorarium) Coaches for the various Cricket Development strategic initiatives. As a member of the Cricket Ontario Management team. You will play an active role in the development, growth and successful operation of the cricket development program in Ontario which targets all levels of cricket for the promotion and participation of the sport in Ontario.

Position is open to residence of Ontario living within 125 KM of Toronto International Airport.

As part of Cricket Ontario plans in establishing a junior cricketing infrastructure, we are seeking committed, motivated volunteer coaches to form a coache’s team to teach the Elite group of young cricketers in Ontario. You will essentially be responsible to help Ontario produce professional cricketers and as a result will work alongside the head coach of Cricket Ontario. You will support the Development Team in planning, organizing and monitoring of a co-ordinated program of high quality cricket activities that Cricket Ontario is creating to improve skill development culture within the Ontario.
Responsibilities of the Cricket Development Coach include but are not limited to the following:
•Conducting/Assisting in skill development camps
•Coaching Ontario team in different competitions and festivals
•Supporting the delivery of development programs (coaching and match programs) in schools as needed
•Planning and timetabling the coaching program under the direction of Cricket Ontario.
•Knowledge and understanding of players discipline and interactions during the course of the competition.
•Qualified ICC/Cricket Canada Level minimum 1 Coach and/or National Player with relevant experience in cricket coaching in schools and/or clubs (Mandatory)
•Police Check clearance (Mandatory)
•Able to work effectively on own initiative and under Head Coach Direction
•Well organized and punctual
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Strong IT and administrative skills
•Flexible and good team player with a flexible approach
•Own transport with Ontario driving license
•An understanding of cricket culture in Ontario
•Able to work with young children Ability to attend Identification, Invitational and Selection Camps
•Ability to provide constructive feedback for player’s future development
•Ability to work with Cricket Ontario management, player’s selection committee and jointly recognize the quality cricket players who will be successful in the provincial and Nationals competitions as Ontario team.
This is a Volunteer position with 1-year term initially with an option to extend for a further. The position will be Ontario based and will report to the Junior program Development Coordinator.
The appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Criminal Records check.
