The Cricket Ontario Executive is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic volunteer (with Honorarium) as a Junior Coordinator for the various Cricket Development strategic initiatives. As a member of the Cricket Ontario Management team. You will play an active role in the development, growth and successful operation of the cricket development program in Ontario which targets all levels of cricket for the promotion and participation of the sport in Ontario.
Position is open to residence of Ontario living within 125 KM of Toronto International Airport.

Position Junior Program Coordinator
Reporting to: Cricket Ontario’s Executive in-charge of the Junior Program
START DATE: January 1, 2018
PURPOSE: Cricket Ontario Junior Program Coordinator leads the planning, development, delivery, evaluation, and management of all provincial programs and initiatives related to junior player development in Ontario.
– Supports the pursuit of excellence for all;
Illustrate and Connects both the competitive and development Cricket for life streams;
Promotes player retention;
Supports the development of more and better players;
Recognizes and addresses long-term athlete development (according to Cricket Canada’s LTAD model).
U16, U18 Provincial Programs
•Develop annual plans for programs
•Communicate and promote programs through website, info sessions, and face-to-face meetings
•Coordinate and attend competitions, training and other developmental opportunities to support and expand the depth and base of competitive juniors
•Liaise with club Community, Cricket Development Academies, Cricket leagues, Cricket Canada and other stakeholders to integrate services and programs at each level and to identify and nurture potential
•Assist in the development of long-term plans to expand the programs’ capacity and improve
•When necessary, develop selection criteria, in consultation with Cricket Ontario’s Provincial Coaches, that is reflective of the best practices such as;
o Information posted before tryouts
o Appeal process
o All non-selected athletes assessment and share guidance to improve
•Travel with athletes to out-of-province competition as appropriate Junior National Championship
•Work with Cricket Ontario’s Junior Program Director to organize teams/coaches to represent Ontario at the Junior National Championships.
•Work with Cricket Ontario’s Youth Development Committee to set selection/qualification processes and communicate to players/parents (non-voting role)
•Work with Junior Program Director to make all logistical preparations for coaches and players
•Attend national championships as required
•Coordinate coach professional development opportunities as required, including hosting Cricket Canada and other visiting facilitators
•Coordinate certification courses as required
•Facilitate Cricket Ontario’s Coach Mentorship program and identify potential new candidates
•Develop succession plan for Course Facilitators
Club Support/Partnership Building
•Work with Cricket Ontario’s Executive Director to develop an incentive/recognition program for member organizations
•Liaise closely with Cricket Academies and Cricket Canada to integrate with provincial programs
oWork with Cricket Ontario’s Program Director to set and manage program budgets

•Communication, Meetings and Policy Development
oEnsure all programs, opportunities and events are well advertised in advance
oAssist to keep Cricket Ontario’s website up-to-date, complete, and fresh
oWork with the Executives to develop relevant policies to be a leader and proactive with regard to player development and excellence
oProvide input and content to Cricket Ontario’s marketing initiatives
oContribute content to Cricket Ontario’s e-newsletters and social media platforms
oAttend meetings as requested
oParticipate in strategic and long-term planning exercises as requestedCommittees/Events
oParticipate on Cricket Ontario’s Youth Development Committee
oAssist with the alignment of Cricket Ontario’s competitive structure with LTAD requirements
oAssist Cricket Ontario and its member clubs with integration of programs
oAssist Cricket Ontario to ensure sanctioned junior events are managed to standard
oAdvise/consult with event committees and Cricket Ontario’s Tournament Committee
oLiaise with Cricket Ontario’s affiliated leagues/members to communicate program plans and to assist with the implementation programs
oParticipate in Cricket Ontario social and special events as requested
•Minimum five years’ experience coaching athletes through the first five stages of Cricket Canada LTAD guidelines
•Candidate must be high energy, affable, creative, and self-starting, able to work both independently and with a sizable team of committee members
•Knowledge of standard office software packages, e.g., MS Office, PowerPoint, and Internet applications is required
•Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills are all necessary
HOURS, NATURE OF WORK & Honorarium
•This is a Volunteer with honorarium position with great variability in the work schedule, including evenings, weekends.
•Honorarium will be negotiated
ACCOUNTABILITY & REPORTING
•Incumbent will report directly to Cricket Ontario’s Executive in-charge of the Junior Program and will provide work plans, progress reports, and program evaluations as requested
•Attend board meetings as required
•Develop work plans will be jointly with Cricket Ontario’s Executive In-charge of Junior Program.
