Ontario Reds wins the National title at the U-16 National Cricket Tournament

Ontario Reds wins the National title at the U-16 National Cricket Tournament in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

On the final day, Ontario Reds played Ontario Greens in the reduce overs (20) final. Reds won the toss and elected to bat, unfortunately rain halted the play after 16 overs bowled and no further play. Bhavindu Adhihetty score 101 not out in the uncompleted match.

Based on the final standing undefeated Ontario Reds was declared the winner, Ontario Greens was runner up (NRR) and Alberta finished third.

Arslan Khan was the MVP of the tournament for his Captain’s inning knock of 155 not out in a game where Ontario Red was 55/5 and he help the team to score 290 runs.

Emmanuel Khokhar was the best batsman, Rommel Shahzad was the best bowlers and Bhavindu Adhihetty got the award for the best spell of 5 wickets in a match.

It was announced that next year tournament will be held in Toronto.
